Zuhause is an architecture and design studio led by myself, a German Architect and Designer, who has been creating distinctive work in London for more than twenty five years. My portfolio spans award-winning residential projects, embassies, hospitals and educational facilities. Over the past 16 years, I have developed a personalised service specialising in high-end residential refurbishments and new builds. My architectural work often becomes a backdrop for my furniture and lighting designs, bringing refined craftsmanship and elegance to each home.

My path into architecture began at the forge. As an apprentice to a toolmaker, I was taught to shape metals by hand, leading to the creation of high-precision instruments. This early training sharpened my eye for fine detail and grounted my respect for materials. These values continue to guide my work.
I later studied at a German university rooted in Bauhaus principles, which deepened my belief in clarity, purpose and the beauty of functional design. Professional experience across Germany, Spain, India and the UK expanded my understanding of cultural and technical contexts including the advanced sustainable design practices necessary to create the concept known as Passivhaus.
Craft, clarity, sustainability and a sensitivity to the ways different cultures inform space and lifestyle guide every project in my architectural practice.
Approach
I see my role not only as an architect, but also as a collaborator and ally. I work closely with clients from the earliest stages, taking time to understand their routines, aspirations and ways of living. This insight helps shape homes that reflect who the owners are and how they want to grow.
My method is structured yet highly personal. Through open, ongoing communication, I guide clients through the complexity of design and construction, while also helping them stay connected to each decision. The result is work that feels both finely crafted and genuinely lived-in; spaces shaped with intention, aspiration and care.
